Saying 'Thanks' isn't big enough. Holiday sentiments aren't grand enough. New Years wishes and festive hallmarks can't capture this thing, I'm caught up in. But for now, it'll have to do.

I wish you(rs) a Happy/Safe & Holiday Season! A joyful & wondrous Twenty-Elevenses, and Thanks! ♥

  • belated Sir James Paul McCartney-Day!
  • belated Scott Wilgus-Price Day! [sans the knight hood, for now]
  • Alex & Lowell initial nuptials day!
  • Day of Dad's, take your pick.
Either way, this one goes out to you[s].

Fabulous! AND I'm not even being a little sarcastic.

New York winter's are so sudden it's merciless and so crisp in cold it cuts through you, but it also centers you. Massive snow later today and tomorrow it'll all be like it never happened. I'm excited. Love it, love it.

Of course, my joints, they protest. Just to be contrary I rode my bike for two hours while watching "Running With Scissors". They should condition soldiers this way, I feel like I could take on the world. ...and in that line of thought, Happy Year of The Rat! )

Later Today: I tutor. There's a first time for everything.

Working on my portfolio and organizing the LA thing is making me hella-anxious, and I HATE putting hella as a prefix. I mean there is only so much Val-Poking allowed; not even halfway done and I'm fit to burst!

Its not 'false modestly' or a 'flaky procrastination' thing. I'm just not vain enough for this much focus. My house is full-up with Val!Shit and it's quite a lot to sort though... so I've been making sure to have lunch with the construction crew on my front stoop every afternoon, to assure them I'm not annoyed, that I'm just photographing them because I'm weird that way and to ask their opinion about pretty much everything I own.

The Benefits of this Stir-Crazy Creativity:
1. I've re-opened my DeviantPrints account! The issue with art thieves... well, DeviantArt will never be known for their brilliant customer service, they're just too indie for their own good. But the hideous humongous watermark is certainly an improvement to doing, you know, nothing.

2. Fun commissions! Is there any better distraction than selfless productivity. I think not. Plus, it makes people happy. That's a karmic good I can do with more of. ^__^

3. iTunes conspires against me as a sign the universe is laughing and now you can too!

4. There is no four, instead here is some photographic evidence of said Val!Explosion care of my niece Crystal's camera working skills.

.....................a-aaaaaaand now back to work!
This Monday is lacking. I'm in need of cheer, aren't you? So, I'm going to recycle something that cheered me up last week... ("The Smoker" by David Schickler).

... only I'm going to add a pleasing graphic and a soundtrack.

[ profile] jlh retold this short-story over dinner once. I never forgot it but I never remembered it either, until [ profile] bowdlerized linked to it.

So this is for [ profile] bowdlerized & [ profile] jlh mostly, in gratitude for the general cheering they provide that never goes unrealized. It's almost impossible not to grin after hearing this track. I dare you not to! In fact, I dare you not to whistle.
And now, on to the arduous task of training m'self to be left-handed, out of necessity, not a whim. There's a funny story behind this, 'cept it'd mean typing it. ^^; Another day then.
