Whatever the reason, whatever the season...

Does it qualify as a Friday-doodle-day thingie if I started it Monday?
I almost never draw anything these days without some sort of back story in my head... but these, I was trying to capture the moment and they just popped out... a simple freehand doodle that grew a 2nd head.
Everything.... line-art, colours, tones; done in OpenCanvas3.
^^;; first time ever using the bugger.... I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon.
It made me realize there is something disastrously wrong with the colours on my monitor... or rather there is something wrong with every other monitor in the universe and mine is perfect.
Either way, I doubt I'll be cg-ing anything again for a loooooong time. Ah, 'cept for one picture I'm almost finished.

This is a piece of gift-art to... well, anyone actually viewing this picture right now. Whatever colour, creed, faith or festivity you and yours hold fast to, this is for you. Yeah, you.

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star...
My wish for you on this any-day, that your every days be filled with all sorts of peace and love and of course a little bit magic.

The best thing is with these steadfast nymphs working away on granting my wish... it's bound to come true, even if it's not so obvious to you.

Really is nifty how it all works out that way. =^_^=

Heh. You may be the first person I've ever met who seems to like my comments more for their aesthetic qualities than for the actual feedback. It's fun, really, like hooking into some kind of infinite loop of reciprocal enthusiasm. :)

*cocks head* And why should you being new at it make it any less stunning? I fear that you are using the type of logic that is...not.

I don't think it's the quality of line-art, it's a whole mindset. The delicate colors, the techniques, the indefinable quality that makes me think of old woodcuts... I've seen it before and always, always, in the work of people who started with line art. You're part of a tradtion here, I think, and you do your ancestors proud.

Also, I find it fascinating that you actually think about it so analytically. It's so opposite to the way I work. I start with large blobs of color and work from lightest to darkes, tweaking like anything as I go along, but rarely with any kind of plan. Like, for example, I've been working on a short animation and at the moment it's very... unformed (http://xanadu-dreams.com/drawings/rain2.gif). Next comes hair, then glasses, then details, and so on. Even so, it'll never be as detailed as yours. I yearn for the unknown, apparently. *laughs*

I wish I had nearly as much art in my works as you have in your words ^_^

*looks abashed* I am sorry about that, by the way. I have a personal ethos of a sort, which is best expressed as a commitment to telling anyone who brings me happiness exactly how I feel. Unfortunately, this happiness tends to be modulated by the person in question... Digikym makes me slightly raunchy, Addictedkitten makes me incoherent, Aome makes me thoughtful, and you seem to bring out the lyrical elements in me.

I blame you entirely, by the way. *grins*

Wow, your method sounds a whole lot more difficult then my own. Although it explains why you would admire something as minuscule and unimportant as detailing... because, for whatever reason that's what I can envision first, like the shape of an eye/eye brow, piercing, rings and hair ribbons...
Eventually it dawns on me I should figure out where arms and legs and such are supposed to be ^^;;
Probably explains while all my hands and limbs then turn out disproportionately huge.

I'd never be able to capture the realism you capture so effortlessly with your method.
I would be jealous of it if I weren't so blown over by it, constantly.

Side Note: [livejournal.com profile] digikym makes everyone slightly raunchy ^__^
