re: American, Cartoons.

I put some thought into writing an Animerica rant/wibble but after reading the NY-Times article on it, I feel it is unnecessary. We already know the truth.

Heh yeah, I saw that too.

Ridiculous.

I tried staring it down and willing it not to be. This newest wave of Animerica is so much with the sucky.

...but on the bright side of today I'm listening to the Mighty Max theme and I'm so filled with fan-girl glee. Thank you for that! ^_^

I'm contemplating scouring my closest for that one video-tape, random and unmarked, with at least four episodes on it. It'd take me all day to find it but I think it's worth it.

...What...the fucking hell? They cannot be serious, can they? i mean...Samurai Champloo being ninjas in training? >:F What the hell. For one, Mugen knows what the hell he's doing. Two, Jin is the fucking bomb with his mad skills. And three, Fuu just doesn't give a damn as long as they find the man who smells like sunflower seeds (and no one dies along the way).

God, Americans are so fucking retarded. RETARDED.

No, not serious, just idiotic and mistaken. I mean it's obvious they don't put much thought into the point of their article but they could at the very least have it proof read. It has Samurai in the goddamn title. Samurai not Ninja. And Fuu as a Ninja is just so much adorable crack XD it hurts just to think about.

[identity profile] bombaygin.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Fuu would really be the cutest ninja in the world. XD You know she would get all meebly if she even hurt a butterfly. Then punch Mugen in the head for not saving it. Then Mugen would grumble, walk off and get drunk. And Jin would just shake his head and again, state that he still could not believe that he had taken up with such a rag-tag team of misfits.

Then he'd eat pie.

<3 I love Samurai Champloo. NEED. ALL. DVDS.

Oh! I read that article and didn't even notice the caption mistake. On the whole, I think the rest of the article was really favorable towards anime.

It also helps that I read it the day after some of my coworkers complained about how much they hate anime.

[identity profile] bhanesidhe.livejournal.com 2006-01-20 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It IS favorable toward anime but in a very dim-witted sort of approach. And sure, I'm happy Princess Mononoke was popular as all that, but there is a lot more to be said for anime than Pokemon and Hayao Miyazaki films. But this thing reads like the "idiot-guide" or something and that's what really irks me.

[identity profile] erinfinnegan.livejournal.com 2006-01-20 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
But c'mon, look at the audience - this is the New York Times - who's reading it? Crufty adults who need an "idiot's guide" to anime.

Young people don't read newspapers anymore. Everyone who needs to know about anime can find out easily enough on the interweb.

On a random note... Where do you get your Nana scanslations? XD

We're a big fan of random HERE.
