[Photos/Live Show] IAMX @ Irving Plaza NYC 4/26

My very goodness, I haven't done one of these in quite some time. It isn't on account of not factually doing various things, or interest in various things, or ailments particularly— just some world wind combination of that PLUS equipment failure.
(2 cameras + 3 phone + 1 laptop =  I mean, seriously.)

But I made very certain to take time out to see IAMX in the (finally, Thank God!) American leg of "The Unified Field" Tour. Not just for my own mentality's sake, but for the mental perversion of our newbie friends. I harangued our friend JQ into attending, to fine results. I sincerely suggest you do the same... well, in the same way that I'll intend on doing to you right now. :o)
Please, forgive my shit cam-phone as I inch from row 5 to row 3 )The Sounds, The Drums... )

Since I'm abusing YouTube anyways, I'll just leave you with my new fav theme song "I Come With Knives" which I identify with for no reason in particular--And its not live so you should be able to hear/see it betterer.  Oh, Oh, OH! Also, Big plus about Irving Plaza and why I like it there. People. Actually. DANCE. crazy I know, but its true! ;o)

[Photos/Live Show] Holy Fuck @ The Music Hall

I mentioned Mel and I deftly managed to obtained entrance to see Holy Fuck @ The Music Hall. There was scheming involved for this and a bit of plowing through a naive teller. I felt it was a decent gig, with well more than decent booze, but in retrospect things get blurry. As my dear Vic here demonstrates;
Vul: I had a great time tonight. Saw a band I really liked!
Vix: don't really care.
Vul: no, honestly it was cool. And they were headliners with no vocalists. It was neat!
Vix: oh. That IS interesting.
Vul: don't sound so surprised. Anyway, I was impressed, but you know me. Any decent enough bass-line and you may as well stick me in a cage to dance for all the spic I'm worth.
Vix: Now I don't like this band.
Vul: well, I liked 'em. But no one else danced-- fucking New Yorkers. Just standing around nodding like a bunch of inebriated pigeons. Felt like an idiot afterward, regretted nothing, but still.
Vix: So, this band made no one dance with you... I like this band.
Vul: what a fucking lousy night.

Revenge of The Book Eaters!

Oh, how I would like to got to this thing!

Even the cause is something I'd like to support, but it is becoming less and less likely, timewise. Sad now.

[NYC] People in my f-list should go so that I might live vicariously ^_^

RE: Tomorrows

In the morning there will be a dentist appointment for a tooth cracked down the middle that will have me in traction to be sure. Which of course means I will be needing a drink afterward.

At night there will be LEGAL [1st time since 1912 thanks to the "absinthe revival"] very green fairy @ the Ball... meanwhile all my fay friends who should be here to celebrate this feat are either in Milan or at Comic-Con.

Well, more for me.

My wings have been adjusted. My gown is amaz-o. Pictures are increasingly unlikely.

Going off Radar

Alright then, since I'm about to disappear for the next 40-ish hours in preparation for the rest of April-related doom, I thought I should update beforehand instead of losing my mind trying to play catch up later this week when it would be entirely inconvenient to do so.

Wednesday - The perfect reason to dye my hair something silly and purchase and wear a stupid shirt. Just what I needed to shake the ghetto skank off my skin, yeah bitches XD
Placebo @ Roseland

Thursday - While not my actual birthday there will be a party to celebrate the event. Incidentally, I will not be there as my Sibling Sister and Wife!J are hosting so I'll be home sitting with the childrens. But if you're up for it, you should go for two very good reasons; 1) rounds need to be had in my absence 2) funds go to pay for my nieces' education, etc.

Friday - AnimeBoston or Bust! ^_^

Edits: Yes the Con is next week, yes, I'm an idiot for over-cramming shits into my April, no I haven't slept yet.

[Photo Post] Sept - Nov re-cap, links, pixs, stuffs...

I'm having one of those fucking rare and crazy morning, where you dragged your ass in at sunrise and dropped dead on the stoop, wake-up oddly energetic not enough hours later with crazy hair and mushed up make-up and you can't help but misguidedly think "Hey, this looks pretty good actually".

Okay, maybe that doesn't happen to everyone. That why I said "fucking rare and crazy". In any case, this post is for the Sisters Curry, both of which I promised I'd not talk shit and make with the recap.
Let me explain...no, there is too much. Let me sum up... )
I am fucking tired. . . . School sucks, work kills, love y'all but if I EVER hear one person complain about me not posting pictures of myself I will kill. Do you understand me?!

[Photos/Live Show] Suicide City @ Trash Bar

Suicide City; every time I see or hear this band I find myself more and more enamored. They are all-points adorable. They were the kids first Punk/CBGB's Show. They were the brass ring in the carousel of random that was AnimeNEXT2006. And this past Saturday they are the best reason EVER for me to bitch about my knee pains.

Being elf-sized has a lot of advantages, one of which is being the perfect size for a member of a punk band to lift you up and swing you around his head. Good-times, good-times.

Curse You Gravity!!

I feel I need to steal the phrase "I saw Jordan Catalano's band!" and that it was a night filled with "EMOSEWA!" entirely from [livejournal.com profile] jlh. All bands were good, all drinks were better and aside from getting snubbed by a shlub the crowd was brilliant!

It was also completely fucking harrowing and redefining my swaying standard between bad-ass and in-fucking-sane. After a little curbside ballet, Pepsi and I took a spill.

WARNING: squeamish people avert your eyes. )

Another Club Note: it's been years but it's still weird to think of the limelight as anything other than the limelight. Avalon's a neat name and all, but it's still the limelight. I mean come on it's the church... what if they reopened the bank proper, it'd still be the bank, you know...although to be fair, that's because it was once an actual Bank. NY is weird.

[livejournal.com profile] tier_luren is here. We've got the whole visiting dying relatives planned, for which I have painkillers [god-bless] and the ulterior motive of stealing the hospitals supply of face masks. Sometime soon, I've got to return to the optometrist so I can stop being goddamn blind. Then back to the dentist to have the other tooth, you know the botched root canal, looked at again, because I'm not nearly having enough turmoil or melodrama in my life lately. God knows.

I'm thinking of taking up juggling knives, just to spite my rising bad karma.

Edits: Crap. Never mind. The other brother is due presently. *kills self*

Do As Infinity @ the Cutting Room

Alas, the venue was too tiny to really be fun, not that the show wasn't fun....
but from the moment the show lights went on the audience and the performers were blinded. <-- no, but really. Stage crew slacking off, maybe?

I've been to better shows, but then I've been to much worse. *koff*koff*Kid-Rock*Koff*
The venue and access really does make all the difference in the world, because they're a good band and were really receptive and had loads more energy than they had any right to given the conditions, and they played well and really belted out good renditions of their recorded works...... but at the end of the night, I hadn't lost my voice and that's saying something.

Well, because I'm by nature loud and like to scream, really. ^^

Unfortunately, I was squished in between some rather tall men, (in front of me, and I'm tiny, so this sucks) and behind me some raging otaku in neeed of sedation. Seriously folks, the band is not named 'Inu Yasha', neither is the song you're requesting, and pretending to feint from sheer excitement is so very 60's. I am not impressed...

The audience otherwise, filled to the brim with friendly oddly sober foreign studenthood, which made for comfort... Aside from the one Blond-Japanese Guy behind me trying to hit on me by saying he was impressed with my English. ?_?

That's.... an interesting come on. Never really got that before, in or out of America, so I'll be sure to write that down. Gotta give that guy credit though, he lived up to as many cliche' as one can in an hour set. Funny guy.

On the major plus side, security was less than formidable, so there were plenty of camera's there, digital, cell phone and otherwise. Truth be told, I could probably download a better experience than what I got from being there tonight.

But then Emily capped off the night by letting us into her humble abode and play a CD of Alan Rickman reading Shakespearean Sonnets.

A good night by all measure. I still have SoCo!

Thank you Red-headed!Sarah, Ruby, Emily and of course 'Do As Infinity'.
Y'all are just so tiny and sooo cute!!

To Whom It May Concern

Just got in. Myself, Spooky and [livejournal.com profile] syndara caught the PLACEBO show tonight (also ran into some familiar long time fans).

Fun was had by all. ^_^

I have $3 in my savings account and probably won't be able to walk for the rest of the week, but I'm neither sober enough to care nor regretting a single (GAWDDAMN) second of it.

That is all.
