Everyone did one of these pics months ago, I forgot to upload mine. This was on my way to the clinic to get injections into my spine, for reasons, with a fancy blouse, leather skirt & machine gun stockings as you do. Check how I own these bitches!! To busy-ness--

Hello kids, I want to tell you a story today, because today is a day where all stories about stories are made true for you. Most especially for my very-est good friend Cassie, who I have shared something magical with. Something that started nearly 10 years ago on the doorstep of my tattoo shop and tonight is comes stealthily to doorstep of unsuspecting viewerships world over. And that's more than a little cool.

This! This however is a story of how I dislike Cinderella. Tonight is "The Mortal Instruments; City of Bones" premiere in LA and I'm missing it, partly because my dress is in London mostly because mys'elf is in New York and a little bit because I am not Cinder-fucking-ella.

I think more than a few people would rally and stress and world-whine themselves up to get to Hollywood "or Bust" and I could do. I really could. But I will sit this one out to stay home and make something special instead. Whinging for "Grand Balls" is over-rated and out of fashion, when Cindy should have just stolen that carriage gotten out of dodge. For real tho, she pinned for a thing she didn't know and hadn't really earned just because everyone else pinned for it too. Maybe its me but that's real fucked-faced, what sort of hoe-y example does that set? And to have your whole future-destiny set on fancy shiney flashy clothing... (don't get me wrong, my dress was Shadowhunter-y, Rachel Freire designer made, better-in-black, bend-you-over-backward-and-smex-you-happy-awesome but still I wasn't going to summon up a demon just to wear it. But yay! Nepotism!)

So, I'm not sitting at home feeling very Cinderella-y as she is my more loathed of the fairy princess, since she is not a fairy or nor a princess at all but a poser! I mean if you're going to have access to magic for one night, really access that magic! She really should have used the pumpkin carriage to overwhelm and go all "Stand-n-Deliver". To rob everyone coming up the highway toward the Palace, use the rat-henchmen as muscle cuz once midnight hit, no one could have identified her and she'd have all teh swag and lived large, maybe even done good with her fortune, become a femme fatale robin hood/pied-piper, a legend in her own right!

THAT would have been magical! THAT is a much better story!

I'm not sure how exactly but I would like to change my story to make tonight magical, for everyone who isn't and is going. I would like to not have anyone pine for something that is ephemeral, so fleeting, like a little ass premiere, in a little ass town, in a little ass theater but instead make it a large ass DANCE!

I'm serious.

It’s the one thing I would have done on the Red Carpet. Cassie knows that for sure. Everywhere I go I do a little dance. I dance a bit if I'm happy, nervous, bored, upset, sleepy. Excited, especially excited! So, do a little dance kids, bring that mo-fo Grand Ball to you!

As far as the film, your expectation, your anticipation, your nervousness, excitements, boredom... on the line, in your seat, at home or waiting for a coffee at your local 'not' Starbucks, dance a little. Everything will be fab, I promise you. "Have a little, Faith."

Ohhhh, yeah! Did I forget to mention that? I just made a "FAITH” Glyph-Rune tonight. I'm dancing over that too! I'd very much like to dance with youヽ(´ー`)ノ

NYCOMICON 2010; in the practice of "If you have nothing good to say… say nothing at all" I haven't recapped. It wasn't dire but it was a mess, which is something I've come to expect. Elisa Lau | Pinkimoon, table-mate, artist, designer, food-wrangler extraordinaire certainly improved the experience. But it was the handful of friends and fans who found me out that made it worthwhile. Gracias, Thank You, Merci, Arigatô, Danke, etc! Truly. :D

Next time I'll be over on the NYAF; I don't know about anyone else but I felt more welcoming there, more organic, festive even!

I know, location-wise, NYAF was put upon, but the ComciCon side was just a mess, a wash of lookie-loo's and industry people flooding the talent, vice-versa. It didn't make for a very creative or happy environment to cultivate... did I mention that I love Elisa? Really, truly, we're meaning to do this again just with much more of a joint effort and NEW items! [On SHOP NEWS I will keep you posted!]

Loads of my prints are outdated or on their last run. That being said PRINT-SALE!! as low as $1, because;
  1. I'd like them to have happy homes. This will be the lastprinting for more than a few of these.
  2. this will cover cost, did I mention NYCOMICON was a bit of a bust,
  3. it will buffer future endeavors, as I endeavor awesome things on behalf of the Future~

...on lots of stuff. )
It has been a while, hasn't it. I'll be booking a flight in a couple of hours, but I need the extra $200 to cover taxes. Its insane that taxes is nearly as much as the flight.. I suppose that because its so last minute.

In any case; this means EMERGENCY Art-Sale. I can do twenty $10 sketches... or something of that variety.

Color would be minimal. Traditional media only (meaning pencils, pens and whatever copics I can fit into the overhead) since I can do those on the road and when I get back for MangaNEXT.

If anyone is crazed enough to still want chibi's, I can work that but it'd have to wait till next month when I'm near my computer.

Pay Pal only, (to bhanesidhe @ ohshush . com) since time is of the essence. Any takers? Really, only have three hours to sort these finances out ^^;
Slots Have All Been Filled. Thanks for the interest! )

. . . when the need to work is stronger than the need to eat.
. . . when the need to create obliterates the need to sleep.
. . . when the need to laugh makes it hard to breath.
Is there any other way to live?
Saying that, I should admit I now also need pills to get to sleep. (Not sleeping pills as that would be logical, but these neat little back pain pills that wipe me out one minute and 6 hours later put a spring in my step, which is an added plus what with the New Boots! XD )

I've got to finish my portfolio this month, and somehow consolidate it into an on-line THING. Not fun. We'll see how that goes.

So, I'm capping commissions and putting an End to the Art-Sale on the Tuesday 15th.
Want art... NEED art? There's you're window. I'm looking at you [livejournal.com profile] sisterpandora, [livejournal.com profile] ciceronianus & [livejournal.com profile] jlh

Meanwhile I now need Excedrin since they've started jack-hammering the pavement on my street corner, which living on the ground floor means they're drilling through my bedroom windows. :(
Step 3.C] RE: Holiday Sale. If I haven't replied yet to your commission request or comment that does not mean I'm not doing. Quite the opposite actually, it took more time to write up the "No, I can't take on your work load and here's why" e-mails than I'd thought. You'll be hearing from me soon.
Just sort of wanted to clear up a thing that happens to be biting me on the ass lately. Read more )
Thank you [livejournal.com profile] kuchisake_onna for making such a lovely specimen with which to poke at.

Step 2.C] RE: 2008 Conventions. Every comment, e-mail and response was noted and it cleared up my head in a big way. I can't express my thanks enough, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, no really. Because now I can move onto bigger things.

Like the long awaited...
Step 4. I've been offered a show in LA. I'm to understand it's an infamous Comic Shop that hosts art shows for local artists year-round. A friend, whose cousin owns it, threw my name into the hat and I said yes. [My exact words were "oh, maybe. I don't know, uh, I can't think of--well, I'd like to but I don't have anything--can I get back to you-won't take no for an answer will you?"] There is a bit of contract signing and schedule okay-ing but I'm aiming for spring [preferably April] which gives me from now till then to put together something resembling productivity, creativity and sense. That's good, yeah? :D

As soon as I get confirmation from them I'll have things, like Dates, Times and Location but I'm playing it fairly close to the chest until then.

One major difficulty is wrapping my brain around setting up a gallery when I'm on the other side of the continent. But I'm a big picture girl, the rest will sort itself out...or I'll make an ass of myself, which I'm pretty fine with as well. This is pretty much why I solicited help from a faery, that and handholding.

If by some miracle this manages to work out the show will be dragged then to London, possibly August. And honestly, wherever else I wrangle an invite and a couch to sleep on.

Actually, I think the more difficult part is deciding what to put in it. I'm good with organizing galleries, mounting and transporting things, insurance and reassurances, but I've never been the artist victim in the hot-seat before. Heheh, oooh nerves, they're all tingly just thinking.

This leads to Step 5., no, not the tingling.

Happy Thursday! . . . it is Thursday, right?

My house is a vortex of time-suckage so I'm not sure.

Just want to post about two quick things with regards to the master plan;
Step 2. Looks like MoCCA is much more a Go than I'd have thought. My dad is being amazingly encouraging and I want to see if I can strong-arm my cousin Ronnie' into showcasing art there, to validate the table size and price. Also, I'm now going to NY AnimeFestival. I wasn't before but then Jo Chen announced she was going and I had my credit card in my hand before the page was finished loading. :) I'm weak I know it, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's good though I always feel a bit stupid to miss out on an event in my own backyard because I couldn't be bothered to get on the D-train. It's nice that East Coast is being rather kind to me lately...unlike the West Coast, who doesn't want to pick up the damned phone.

Step 3. Holiday Art-Sale! I wanted to add, if you want a product, like the Personalized Calendar I did last year, or Prints left over from cons previous, or even items on the CafePress store [before they get pulled down], feel free to ask. I'd be pleased as punch to share things and not just commissions. Fact is, ready made would probably be less stressful than newly made and holiday timely.

That's all for now, so back to the festivities. Funny hats, fancy drinks and Food Comas All Around!
