The shame is I can only summarize my impressions mathematically and I have an aversion to numbers.

Batman Begins = Ninja[Gear2] + [PLOT!?4]

Simple really. How over the moon am I about Christopher Nolan being involved in the screenplay and direction? So fucking very.

Casting was tolerably good. I had my reservations but I'm always happy to be disproved when it comes to things like that. (With the exception of Katie Holmes who should [be given a pat on the back for good aim with a tazer and then be shot in the face for it and] DIE!)

[livejournal.com profile] folk is good people for having the crafty 'duck and cover' maneuver available to stifle my guffaws over Alfred and Lucius being so obviously in love.

Two cheers for the NYC audience for offering up such vivid commentary as;
"So, Bruce Wayne's a... manwhore?"
"What else do you need, woman? Evil dicks flying around?!"
"Wall + Batman. PWND!!"

Three cheers for gravity, which kicked everyone's ass!

And a round of applause for myself for not chanting 'we must go out and Ninja in the night!' to which I was sorely tempted. [And as such one of my many charges has made a habit of pointing out that 'Ninja' is not a verb. The only rebuttal for this is a tight swap to the back of the head and a knee to the back. Is it any wonder why baby-sitting was not my career choice? ]

High points for pl33b!me: The DC-Comics credentials in the first frames of the movie and Chris Nolan's name popping up into view when the credits rolled. This doesn't mean the movie is intolerably bad really, in fact from the beginning my expectations were exceedingly low. I was honestly surprised to find I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There is nothing better than a really good bad movie and this was a really good 'bad-movie'.

Katie Holmes really needs to be offed. She is just unnecessary. Conveniently, so is her character.

I apologize for that outburst, I needed to get it out of my system because there are other matters of import to attend to and it was just in-the-fucking-way.

It seems I've forgotten to post, as promised, that my summer plans have changed;
Next week, I am leaving to Puerto Rico, via Florida for a little over a month. Fun-fun-family oriented things are scheduled to occur. On-line access will be sketchy at best.

I will be back in time for about two weeks worth of foot-tours through NYC with SYMON&CO.
[locals are more than welcome to join in [livejournal.com profile] jlh? [livejournal.com profile] calloocallay maybe?]

Then immediately to Otakon with the usual suspects.
[[livejournal.com profile] ali_wildgoose more than likely with [livejournal.com profile] emsariel in tow, [livejournal.com profile] btchi_kitten as well [livejournal.com profile] themadfish for cuddles and I'm assuming [livejournal.com profile] erinfinnegan but I like to assume things. I expect to see [livejournal.com profile] akickinthehead because it just wouldn't be the same without him. [livejournal.com profile] fatpuppy you will be so thoroughly missed, there are no words ;___;]

If, by chance, you're attending swing by our table[s] and keep me company. Seriously, my short attention span makes a tragedy of most cons I attend. If you feed me coffee and/or pocky I tend challenge random cos-players to mortal combat. Good-times, good-times. I'm easy enough to find; I'll either be wearing wings and swinging off of make-believe chandeliers reeking of hazelnut cappuccinos or tackling [livejournal.com profile] otemen while trying to thieve his flak-jacket... just because.

In an attempt to be thorough:

* I have it on good authority that apparently I'm staring as Mimi in RENT. spic!chicks = rawr. . . and why not, the guy who played Angel last time I saw it looked exactly like my cousin papote. They're making into a movie I hear. Yeah, you peoples best go out and see it before it gets to sucking.

* [livejournal.com profile] muldr4scly I got the puzzle books! The day before yesterday, I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to tell you ^^; packin' and shit. I'm still waiting on the proof.

* [livejournal.com profile] folk looks, honest-to-god, fabulous with purple hair XD

* not entirely unrelated, got confirmation of registration for Yaoi-Con... finally.

* I long to meet Linus, [livejournal.com profile] cassandraclaire & [livejournal.com profile] tromboneborges kitty! <3

I was so worried my order wouldn't get here before I went on my trip, but both ups and fed-ex came 'round this afternoon, within minutes after each other! And I have the prettiest prints it just makes me weak. I did however make quite the boo-boo when I ordered this...
AWAW - MANIPULATE

poster size [12x18 instead of 8x12] ^^;

Thankfully, I only bought three of them, but they don't fit in my notebook and I hate carrying tubes around. Does anybody want one, like now? Because I would really like to order/receive the print the right size before I go. I will gladly sell them at cost plus whatever shipping is, which comes to about $8 or near about. It's too time consuming and troublesome to exchange. Plus, I'd need to order it now to get it and therefore I'd need the funds. blah-blah-blah.
In any case, I listed it at eBay. Cash/Money Order is discouraged simply because, if I wait on the postal service I'll never get the payment in time and I'll be in Florida by the time the letter arrives ^^, Credit Cards are acceptable though.
