The shame is I can only summarize my impressions mathematically and I have an aversion to numbers.
Batman Begins = Ninja[Gear2] + [PLOT!?4]
Simple really. How over the moon am I about Christopher Nolan being involved in the screenplay and direction? So fucking very.
Casting was tolerably good. I had my reservations but I'm always happy to be disproved when it comes to things like that. (With the exception of Katie Holmes who should [be given a pat on the back for good aim with a tazer and then be shot in the face for it and] DIE!)
folk is good people for having the crafty 'duck and cover' maneuver available to stifle my guffaws over Alfred and Lucius being so obviously in love.
Two cheers for the NYC audience for offering up such vivid commentary as;
Three cheers for gravity, which kicked everyone's ass!
And a round of applause for myself for not chanting 'we must go out and Ninja in the night!' to which I was sorely tempted. [And as such one of my many charges has made a habit of pointing out that 'Ninja' is not a verb. The only rebuttal for this is a tight swap to the back of the head and a knee to the back. Is it any wonder why baby-sitting was not my career choice? ]
High points for pl33b!me: The DC-Comics credentials in the first frames of the movie and Chris Nolan's name popping up into view when the credits rolled. This doesn't mean the movie is intolerably bad really, in fact from the beginning my expectations were exceedingly low. I was honestly surprised to find I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There is nothing better than a really good bad movie and this was a really good 'bad-movie'.
Katie Holmes really needs to be offed. She is just unnecessary. Conveniently, so is her character.

"What else do you need, woman? Evil dicks flying around?!"
"Wall + Batman. PWND!!"
