Yay! So That Happened. The trailer/movie poster came out, with my rune designs stealthed in there at the bottom, underneath the underneath. I thought all this "City of Bones" Film stuffage was coming out tomorrow. ;o)

Having just watched "Inception" for the second time, it's difficult to entertain the prospect of drawing of a scene from any other movie... but then comes the tougher choice of which scene, since I kinda love them all.

So, here is 13-hours of straight quick work, including a bit of something from nearly every scene, only not spoiler-y (if you can imagine such a thing!)

*I drew Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe + Dileep Rao as well. Even tried to add them to the piece but that just made it look busy... er. Posted late; cuz of a butt-load of Hi-Res scanning.
Full List )
Spoilers (in as vague a sense as possible for the film but) en mass for everything Else HULK )

Now, mind you, if you've read that and you're fine with it, you're in for a treat. If you're not a fan of smashing and bashing violence I don't know what would incline you to see the Hulk. 'Cuz as we all know "Hulk, SMASH!!"

FOR ALISON )
X-3 mastered a new an inventive type of god-awful-sucking. [Erin has a much clearer brain capacity to endure this THING!] It's been nearly a week since the viewing and I can't restrain myself from shouting at every advert I see. If it did do anything it encouraged me to gesture constantly and dramatically although not at all in a family-friendly sort of way. That's really all I've got to say about that...

Want to see a much better film?
"I'm EMO. I black my wrist and slash my eyes." - as quoted by my creepily and insightful 12-year-old nephew.
Three amazingly crap things about Lifes:
1] Spirit airlines taking my luggage to Florida, whilst I live in New York
2] Walking goddamn pneumonia.
3] Every electrical thing I own self-destructing one after another after another. Camera, laptop, PC, network, scanner, purifier, vacuum, etc. etc. etc.

Three horrendously yay things about Lifes:
1] Actually making it to [livejournal.com profile] blackholly New Years, with gifts, booze, wings and gown in tact. (Although I still have no photographic evidence of such a thing T_T)
2] Realizing that Death Cab for Cutie is my roadtrip band of destiny!!
3] Already cementing plans for next New Years, scheming [livejournal.com profile] theacidfairy, [livejournal.com profile] tier_luren & [livejournal.com profile] otemen into the mix. ...mmmmm,homemadesloegin...

Three book based movies that need to be slapped upside the head and love-ed simultaneously:
1] "Chronicles of Narnia - the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Edmund was poison by the witch's food! I mean seriously I'm all about the sugar cake's myself but I'd hardly sell my family up the river just for f*cking Turkish Delights.
Other revelations: I am so very Edmund and [livejournal.com profile] jlh is very Mr. Tumnus. I'm around her for less than three seconds and I want to do right despite my nature. She's just amazing in a way that doesn't belong to words.
2] "Tristan and Isolde". Okay, removing all sense of magic and mystery to make the story plausible is one thing. But having Iseult out live Tristan is out right silly.
3] "Brokeback Mountain". . . why haven't I seen this yet? What is wrong with me? It's getting to that point that there is no way it can live up to the hype and I very well may not see it at all. Yes, I think so =_=

Three alcoholic wonders:
1] "Eternal Kisses"; the evolved form of "Bloody Kisses".
2] "DonQ's - Coconut Rum". It is such a sinister shade of green and yet WOW.
3] The Bellevue being new and crap and crappily newer. You think it doesn't apply, but it does.

Things appear to have slowed down, marginally, aside from some impending dentistry, and I will finally be able to finish any and all outstanding commissions. Before the First of February even! *knocks on wood*

I felt I should say as much for any concerned/worried individuals. Lesse, what else... I feel like I'm forgetting something.

Read more... ) Posted twenty-hours early in celebration about of my boy surprising me with the Batman:Begins DVD on account of it having Ninjas and Christopher Nolan being brilliant. <3
The shame is I can only summarize my impressions mathematically and I have an aversion to numbers.

Batman Begins = Ninja[Gear2] + [PLOT!?4]

Simple really. How over the moon am I about Christopher Nolan being involved in the screenplay and direction? So fucking very.

Casting was tolerably good. I had my reservations but I'm always happy to be disproved when it comes to things like that. (With the exception of Katie Holmes who should [be given a pat on the back for good aim with a tazer and then be shot in the face for it and] DIE!)

[livejournal.com profile] folk is good people for having the crafty 'duck and cover' maneuver available to stifle my guffaws over Alfred and Lucius being so obviously in love.

Two cheers for the NYC audience for offering up such vivid commentary as;
"So, Bruce Wayne's a... manwhore?"
"What else do you need, woman? Evil dicks flying around?!"
"Wall + Batman. PWND!!"

Three cheers for gravity, which kicked everyone's ass!

And a round of applause for myself for not chanting 'we must go out and Ninja in the night!' to which I was sorely tempted. [And as such one of my many charges has made a habit of pointing out that 'Ninja' is not a verb. The only rebuttal for this is a tight swap to the back of the head and a knee to the back. Is it any wonder why baby-sitting was not my career choice? ]

High points for pl33b!me: The DC-Comics credentials in the first frames of the movie and Chris Nolan's name popping up into view when the credits rolled. This doesn't mean the movie is intolerably bad really, in fact from the beginning my expectations were exceedingly low. I was honestly surprised to find I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There is nothing better than a really good bad movie and this was a really good 'bad-movie'.

Katie Holmes really needs to be offed. She is just unnecessary. Conveniently, so is her character.
