Wow, your method sounds a whole lot more difficult then my own. Although it explains why you would admire something as minuscule and unimportant as detailing... because, for whatever reason that's what I can envision first, like the shape of an eye/eye brow, piercing, rings and hair ribbons... Eventually it dawns on me I should figure out where arms and legs and such are supposed to be ^^;; Probably explains while all my hands and limbs then turn out disproportionately huge.
I'd never be able to capture the realism you capture so effortlessly with your method. I would be jealous of it if I weren't so blown over by it, constantly.
