X-3 mastered a new an inventive type of god-awful-sucking. [Erin has a much clearer brain capacity to endure this THING!] It's been nearly a week since the viewing and I can't restrain myself from shouting at every advert I see. If it did do anything it encouraged me to gesture constantly and dramatically although not at all in a family-friendly sort of way. That's really all I've got to say about that...

Want to see a much better film?

I flew, I'm hear. we've been working in the college studio for days. It's hermetically sealed I think. There is no phone or pc, in this dungeon just work, which is good. Maybe if I free up sometime over the weekend, maybe...*gets back to work*

OMG YOUR HERE!!!

I MUST SEE YOU! Do not escape!

I've got a barbeque in Oxford on Saturday like 5ish pm - your welcome to come to Oxford in the day and join me for that later? Alternatively could meet up Sunday wherever you are?

Do you know my number? Actually you said you didn't have a phone.

Seriously, one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. I was so disappointed.

It hurt, it hurt like an STD. In fact, that's what it is, a cinematic STD. I feel like I'll never be clean again ^^;

I heard the new X-Men film sucks. Everyone's blaming the new director.

I've heard that Emo song from a while back and it's still funny. I sing that song everytime I come across Fuse since there's always some crappy emo band video being played on it.

"My life is just a black abyss, you know, it's so dark. And it's suffocating me, gripping hold of me tightly in its grip, as tight as my sister's jeans, which look good on me by the way"

So you're in England? I hope everything's cool. Next week I'm going to see NIN and Bauhaus in NJ. That should be good.

I am. ^_^ and cool is an understatement since everything here is just lovely and when last I left the tri-state it was a combination furnace/armpit.

Have a blast, I would say throw them your panties... but there is just so much not right with that generalization.

Seriously. X3 was so so awful.
Like... how bad was the big cheesy headstone?
Grr.

Don't worry though. Superman will fix it.

From: [identity profile] bhanesidhe.livejournal.com

It wasn't the headstone so much as the HORRID dialog that KILLED me... killed me deader than dead.

Superman? Maybe, but rewatching Batman seems to have lessened the blow. God, I love Chris Nolan.

Can you believe I've been having to defend my opinion of the suckitude? I feel like I either fell down a rabbit hole or the theater failed to give us the Bret Ratner Kool-Aid that these people clearly drank. Argh! Why won't it stop hurting?!?

From: [identity profile] bhanesidhe.livejournal.com

Actually, I'm not all that surprised. When Fantastic Four came out it was the same deal. I found myself very alone on the side of taste. I got tired of arguing it very quickly and resorted to the last argument to end all arguments "Like it all you want but it's no Batman!"

I'm actually feeling better about this all not because I've reached any new found respect for that piece of shit but because BRICK just opened here and after re-watching I feel my film palate has been cleansed.

If you haven't seen it, you should. It will make you love cinema again. If you have seen it... watch it again, itsoofuckinggoooood.

Ten days later...

So I just watched Brick tonight and it is indeed a delightful and cleansing movie. But even better, my beloved Serenity will fly in a special screening for charity next week and I've been jumping up and down and making joyous squeaking noises. I'm gonna have my special t-shirt ready to go.

Re: Ten days later...

oooh, I am filled with envious jealousy, with the exception of seeing an eight year old wear that same T at a con is all sorts of demented joys. yesss.

I wish I wasn't jet-lagged, drunk and busy as hell this weekend. I never got to see Serenity on the big screen as in ever and my life is sad for this, but in a very busy sort of way.

*loves on BRICK like woah*

Re: Ten days later...

As it happens, the screening's at 11:45pm *next* Friday, June 23rd and I have an extra ticket that should go to a deprived soul who missed out on seeing it in a theater...it is for charity, after all.
